Xbox One - How to Configure the Auto Shutdown Settings

You can configure your Xbox One console to automatically shut down after certain period of inactivity. The procedure is simple and straightforward.

Press the Menu key of the controller and then go to Settings > Power & startup > Turn off after. Select one of the following options: 1 hour of inactivity, 6 hours of inactivity or Don't turn off automatically.

The Xbox One has the ability to send discrete commands to your television and other connected devices such as the cable box or audio receiver. For example, you can have your TV turned on/off with your gaming console, which eliminates the need for you to use a separate remote control. Here's how to configure these settings on the Xbox One:

Wait for the console to detect your connected devices and then configure the toggles for theWHEN XBOX TURNS ON, SEND and WHEN XBOX TURNS ON, SEND options:
